What to Expect at a Skillshotz Gaming Corporate Event — A Complete Walkthrough from Inquiry to Wrap-Up

You’ve heard about Skillshotz Gaming. Maybe a colleague mentioned it, or you found us while searching for something genuinely different for your next corporate team building event in South Florida. Now you’re wondering: what does a day here actually look like?

This post walks you through everything — from the moment you submit an inquiry to the moment your team heads home with their branded D20. No surprises, no guesswork. Just a clear picture of what to expect so you can book with complete confidence.

Step 1: Submit your inquiry — we respond within 48 hours

Everything starts with our corporate event inquiry form. It takes about five minutes to complete and asks for the basics — your company name, group size, preferred date, package preference, experience type (D&D, board games, or both), AV needs, dietary restrictions, and gift tier preference.

Within 48 hours of submitting you’ll receive a full event proposal and a custom menu for your coordinator to review and approve. We don’t send generic pricing sheets. We send a tailored proposal built around your specific group, date, and preferences.

Once you approve the proposal and menu, we lock in your date with a refundable deposit. From that point on, your coordinator has one point of contact at Skillshotz for any questions, changes, or additions before the day.

Step 2: Before your event — what we handle, what you provide

In the weeks leading up to your event, here’s what we take care of:

  • DM assignment — we assign a professional Dungeon Master or Game Master to every table based on your group size and package
  • Menu finalization — your approved custom menu is confirmed with The Twisted Vine kitchen
  • AV setup — if you’re sending slides or a presentation deck, we load it in advance and test across all screens
  • Room configuration — immersive rooms and analog tables are set up for your group size and preferred format
  • Gift preparation — your Skillshotz branded D20s (or custom corporate logo D20s if ordered in advance) are prepped and ready

Here’s what we need from you before the day:

  • Confirmed guest count (final headcount as close to the event date as possible)
  • Any dietary restrictions or allergy updates not included in the original inquiry
  • Your presentation deck or AV files if applicable (can be sent up to 24 hours before)
  • Your logo file in SVG or high-resolution PNG if you selected a custom corporate logo D20 upgrade

That’s genuinely it. Most corporate venues require far more coordinator prep work. We’ve built the process to be as turnkey as possible.

9:00 AM — Arrival and welcome

Your group arrives to a venue that is entirely yours. Skillshotz doesn’t open to the public until 5:30 PM, so from 9 AM to 5 PM the space belongs exclusively to your company. No strangers walking through, no competing noise, no shared space.

If you’ve sent a welcome deck or company slides, they’re already displaying on every screen across the venue when your team walks in the door — the projector in The Twisted Vine bar and the TVs in every game room all showing your content simultaneously.

Your event coordinator is greeted by our staff and given a quick walkthrough of the space. Your Dungeon Masters are already at their tables, ready to meet the group. There’s no setup for you to manage, no AV to troubleshoot, no catering to direct. You just walk in.

9:30 AM — Morning session: D&D adventures begin

Your DMs gather their tables and kick off the morning. Here’s what happens for groups who have never played D&D before — which is most of our corporate groups:

Character creation (15 minutes)

Your DM guides each player through picking a character in about 15 minutes. No rulebook reading, no math, no decisions that feel overwhelming. The DM makes it fun and quick — your character choice is essentially: what kind of person do you want to be in this story? The warrior, the clever rogue, the powerful wizard, the charming bard. That’s it.

The adventure begins

Once characters are chosen the DM launches straight into the adventure. Every table runs a parallel story — different challenges, different moments, different decisions — that connects to an overarching narrative shared across the room. Groups of 4 at each table work together to navigate encounters, make decisions, and move the story forward.

The DM manages everything. Rules, dice rolls, storytelling, pacing, energy. If someone is confused they explain it on the spot. If someone is quiet they draw them in. If someone is dominating the table they gently redirect. This is what a professional DM does — and it’s why the experience works for groups who have never touched a rulebook.

Board game option

If your group prefers board games over D&D, the morning session runs as a structured tournament instead. Our Game Masters run competitive rounds of strategy and social games — think Ticket to Ride, Codenames, Pandemic, and similar titles that are immediately accessible and genuinely fun for any group. No prior experience required.

12:00 PM — Lunch at The Twisted Vine

At noon the whole group breaks for lunch at The Twisted Vine — Skillshotz’s fully themed on-site bar. Your custom approved menu is served exactly as your coordinator signed off on it. Craft beer, wine, mead, and food are all available. If you want a movie playing on the projector during lunch, that’s already queued up. If you want your company highlight reel or team photos on screen, that’s there too.

This isn’t a catered-sandwich-in-a-conference-room situation. It’s a proper midday break in a genuinely cool space, with good food and drinks, and a room full of colleagues who are already mid-story and talking about what just happened at their table.

The lunch hour is also when the energy naturally consolidates. Tables compare notes, share highlights, tease each other about their worst decisions. The shared narrative starts to emerge across the whole group — even people who were at different tables begin to connect their stories.

1:00 PM — Afternoon session

The afternoon is the most flexible part of the day and is shaped around your group’s energy and preferences. There are three common formats:

  • Continue the campaign: Tables pick up where the morning left off. The DMs have been building toward a bigger challenge or climactic encounter that the afternoon session resolves. This is the format that creates the most memorable stories.
  • Switch to board game tournament: Some groups do D&D in the morning and prefer the different energy of board game competition in the afternoon. Our Game Masters run bracket-style tournaments with winners across tables competing for the final title.
  • Open gaming: For groups who want a more relaxed afternoon, we open the floor to free choice across our full game library. DMs and Game Masters remain available to run anything the group wants to try.

You don’t have to decide this at booking. Our staff reads the room after lunch and recommends the format that fits the group’s energy. You can always override that recommendation — it’s your day.

4:30 PM — Wrap-up, awards, and the D20 send-off

At 4:30 PM the DMs bring all the tables together for the final wrap-up. Adventures are concluded, scores are tallied, and the group gathers as a whole. This is the moment where individual table stories connect — your DMs have been running parallel narratives that were designed to converge here.

Bragging rights are awarded. Most creative decision. Best moment of the day. Most dramatic failure that somehow worked out. These are the inside jokes your team will be repeating at the office for the next six months.

Then every guest receives their Skillshotz branded D20 — or their custom corporate logo D20 if you selected that upgrade at booking. It’s the physical souvenir of the day. A polyhedral die that sits on someone’s desk, gets noticed by a visitor, and starts the story all over again.

Your group is out the door by 5:00 PM — before Skillshotz opens to the public at 5:30 PM. The venue is reset and yours until the moment you leave.

The questions we get most often — answered

What if some of our team really don’t want to play D&D?

This comes up at almost every corporate booking and the answer is: our DMs have seen every level of skepticism and they’re trained to handle it. The person who folds their arms when they walk in is usually the one telling the best story at the end of the day. If D&D really isn’t going to work for your group, we run board game tournaments instead — no experience needed for those either.

What if we have fewer than 32 people?

Our packages start at 12 guests. The Adventurers package is designed for groups of 10–12, The Guild for up to 20, and The Conquest for up to 32. Smaller groups get an equally attentive experience — fewer tables just means more focused DM attention per player.

Can we do a half-day instead of a full day?

Yes — half-day options are available. A 3-hour morning session (9 AM–12 PM) with lunch is a complete, satisfying experience. Our DMs pace the adventure specifically for the time available so nothing feels cut short. Just mention this in your inquiry form.

Is parking available?

Yes — Skillshotz Gaming is located at 616 SE 10th Street in Deerfield Beach with parking available on site. The venue is easily accessible from I-95 and the Florida Turnpike, making it a convenient drive for companies coming from Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, or Delray Beach.

What’s the cancellation policy?

Your deposit is refundable. Specific cancellation terms are confirmed at the time of booking based on your event date and package. We work with corporate coordinators on rescheduling where possible — we understand that company plans change.

Why this day feels different from every other corporate event

Most corporate events are passive. Your team sits, listens, eats, and goes home. The day is pleasant but forgettable — nothing happens that couldn’t have happened anywhere.

A Skillshotz corporate event is active from 9 AM to 5 PM. Every person at every table is making decisions, collaborating, laughing, failing, recovering, and winning. The day has a shape — a beginning, a middle, a climax, and an ending. And at the center of it is a professional storyteller whose entire job is to make sure every single person has a great time.

That’s genuinely rare. And it’s why companies who book once tend to book again.

Ready to book your corporate event at Skillshotz Gaming? Fill out our inquiry form and your coordinator will have a custom proposal and menu within 48 hours. Daytime slots fill quickly — especially Fridays.
