Disney Lorcana Attack of the Vine: Everything You Need to Know (Set 13)

Disney Lorcana’s biggest set yet is here. Attack of the Vine — Set 13 — prereleased at local game stores July 17, 2026, with wide retail release July 24, 2026. The set is now fully available at Skillshotz Gaming in Deerfield Beach.

It’s the culmination of a year-long storyline, and it brings three brand-new Pixar franchises into the game for the first time.

Key Dates

  • Prerelease: July 17, 2026 (complete)
  • Wide retail release: July 24, 2026 (now live)
  • Card count: 207 cards in the main set — the first Lorcana set ever to break past the usual 204-card ceiling

New Franchises: Monsters Inc., Up, and Turning Red

Following Wilds Unknown’s introduction of Toy Story, The Incredibles, and Brave earlier this year, Attack of the Vine continues Lorcana’s Pixar expansion with three more beloved franchises making their full debut:

Monsters, Inc. — Sulley, Mike Wazowski, and Boo all join the realm. The Monsters Inc. debut is one of the most anticipated additions in Lorcana history given the franchise’s enormous fanbase overlap with the Disney collector community.

Up — Carl Fredricksen arrives with new artwork. A quieter debut than Monsters Inc. but a meaningful addition for players who love the emotional storytelling side of Disney.

Turning Red — Meilin Lee debuts, including a Red Panda Legend version — one of the confirmed standout pulls in the set.

The Story: A Living Threat Spreads

Attack of the Vine takes Lorcana in a noticeably darker direction than previous sets. The central threat is the Vine itself — a living, thorny entity that has spread out of control across the Inklands since first appearing in set artwork back in Whispers in the Well. It’s not just a plant; it corrupts everything it touches.

That corruption shows up directly on cards. Classic Disney villains return in twisted, transformed versions reflecting the Vine’s influence:

  • Ursula — Created by the Vine
  • Pete — Created by the Vine
  • Gaston — Created by the Vine

These corrupted variants feature distinctly eerie artwork — a major departure from Lorcana’s typically warmer visual palette.

New Mechanics

The Vine and Vinelings — A new Lorcana-native card entity with its own token copies. The Vine itself is a card type that can spread, corrupt, and interact with other cards in ways that older Lorcana entities couldn’t.

Temporary Shift — A new keyword that allows a card to shift onto another card temporarily, with different rules than standard Shift — the shifted card returns rather than staying permanently.

Floodborn Shift — A new variant on the Shift keyword specifically for Floodborn characters, opening up new deckbuilding angles for players who have been running Floodborn-heavy lists.

Morph returns — A mechanic making its comeback for Set 13, rewarding players who know when to reveal their Morph cards for maximum effect.

Chase Cards

Beyond the 207-card main set, the real chase pulls are in the extended range:

  • 18 Epic cards
  • 18 Enchanted cards
  • 2 Iconic cards — the rarest tier in the set

Confirmed standout pulls:

  • Sulley — The New Boss (Monsters Inc. debut Legendary)
  • Boo — Energetic Child (fan favorite, high demand)
  • Mike Wazowski — Well-Rounded Entertainer
  • Meilin Lee’s Red Panda Legend card (Turning Red debut)
  • Ursula — Created by the Vine (corrupted villain variant)

The Monsters Inc. characters are expected to hold strong long-term collector demand — these franchises haven’t been in Lorcana before, and first printings of beloved characters tend to stay valuable.

Product Lineup

Booster Packs and Booster Boxes — Standard product. 24 packs per box. Each pack contains a mix of Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Legendary, and a chance at Epic, Enchanted, or Iconic.

Illumineer’s Trove — Includes a storage box, 6 card dividers, 8 booster packs, 6 damage-counter dice, and a lore counter. A strong pick for players who want extras beyond just cracking packs.

Prerelease Kits — Available exclusively at local game stores during prerelease weekend (now complete). Each kit included 6 booster packs, themed dice, a deck box, and one of six gold-foil promo cards — featuring Buzz, Boo, Merlin, or Maximus among others — plus one of three unique art postcards.

All products available at market pricing through our TCG Player store.

What to Buy Now the Set Is Live

For collectors: The Monsters Inc., Up, and Turning Red first-printing cards are the long-term targets. These franchises haven’t appeared in Lorcana before — first appearances of beloved characters tend to hold value better than cards from franchises that have been in the game since Set 1. The Iconic cards and Enchanted variants of the new franchise characters are the highest-priority chase targets.

For competitive players: Singles prices are settling now that launch weekend has passed. Check community sites and TCGPlayer for current market values before buying. The new mechanics — Temporary Shift and the Vine tokens — are worth testing before committing to a build.

For new players: A Booster Box gives you the most cards to build from. The Illumineer’s Trove adds storage and accessories. If you want a ready-to-play experience, ask us about starter options when you come in.

What’s Next for Lorcana

Attack of the Vine is Set 13. Ravensburger has maintained a consistent release cadence of approximately three sets per year. The next Lorcana set announcement is expected in fall 2026.
